Susan LamberthCofounder/Choreographer/Dancer
Susan Lamberth is a co-founder, choreographer, and performer in Anemone Dance Theater. On sabbatical from Anemone, she is currently a PhD student in Anthropology at Indiana University Bloomington. Her anthropological research centers on dance, the body, ritual, and performance in Latin America. The most recent incarnations of her choreography have been concerned with the humor found in the dark absurdities inherent in the state of being human. She has previously worked with the Butoh Rockettes, Teatro du El, Poppo and Gogo Boys, Company Appels, and many other performance groups in New York. She has toured in Brazil, Morocco, Austria, and Belgium. She has practiced yoga since 1993 and has taught Vinyasa Yoga in New York and Chicago. Susan holds a Bachelors degree in Dance and Anthropology from Arizona State University and a Masters of Arts in Social Science from the University of Chicago.
